TASI closes Tuesday in red; awaits Aramco listing tomorrow

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) declined on Tuesday, after three consecutive rises.

The Saudi market awaits launching the listing and trading of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company’s (Saudi Aramco) shares on Tadawul on Wednesday.

The Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) closed at the level of 8,066.42 points, losing 0.66% or 53.59 points.

Trade values shrank to 107.845 million shares, compared with 160.57 million shares on Monday, with values decreasing to SAR 2.58 billion, down from SAR 3.99 billion yesterday. The number of transactions amounted to 115,825.

Alujain was the session’s top gainer and surged 6.73%, while Thimar was the top loser and dropped 7.82%.

Alinma was the most actively traded stock with 12.014 million shares, while Al Rajhi registered the highest turnover with SAR 379.74 million.

Meanwhile, the main index of the Nomu Parallel Market rose by 0.26% and closed at 8,120.01 points, its highest level since 28 August.

Saad Al Thaqfaan, market analyst and member of the Saudi Economic Association, told Mubasher that closing below the 8,080-point level signalled the benchmark index movement within the upward trend, adding that there were some exits today as investors await the listing of Aramco tomorrow.
