Cairo – Mubasher: DP World Sokhna has received the ZHEN HUA 36 vessel with four container cranes (mobile cranes) on board, as a first batch of a total of 13 giant cranes.   

The new cranes will be used in loading and unloading containers at the second dock of Ain Sokhna Port, following the completion of the expansion process, according to a statement released by the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) on Monday.   

This batch contains the largest cranes manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co (ZPMC) with a capacity of handling 40 containers per hour and a load capacity of 80 tonnes, the statement showed.      

DP World is set to operate the second dock after being constructed by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) at a total cost of EGP 10 billion ($520 million) by March 2020.
