Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has witnessed several achievements in public utilities and housing sectors during 2019.
Roads
At a cost of EGP 8 billion, 25 roads with a combined length of 732 kilometres have been built during the year, according to a report released by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities on Tuesday.
Water and sanitation projects
Moreover, 295 water and sanitation projects have been established across all governorates at a total cost of EGP 12.7 billion.
Over the twelve-month period, Egypt has seen the establishment of 54 water projects at a capacity of 1 million cubic metres per day as well as 76 sanitation projects in cities at a capacity of 1.3 million cubic metres per day at a cost of EGP 10.1 billion.
Additionally, a total of 165 sanitation projects in villages have been built at a combined cost of EGP 2.6 billion.
Housing projects
The most populous Arab nation has completed about 437,000 residential units, including social housing, middle-income, and luxury housing units.
