Mubasher: The Boursa Kuwait’s indices grew during the year 2019, compared to the year before, with the All-Share Market index rose by 1,202.9 points, or 23.7%, to 6,282.46 points.

Over the year, the Premier Market index surged 1,708.6 points, or 32.4%, to 6,975.96 points, while the Main Market index added 172.1 points, or 3.6%, to 4,910.69 points.

Positive performance in the fourth quarter, December

During the fourth quarter of 2019, the Boursa Kuwait’s indices saw a positive performance. The All-Share Market index increased by over 600 points in Q4-19 and 354.2 points in December.

Moreover, the Premier Market index gained 197 points in Q4 and more than 143 points in the last month of the year. The Main Market index levelled up by 197 points in the three-month period ended 31 December and by 143 points on a monthly basis.

From October to December, trading volume reached over 10 billion shares, while liquidity hit KWD 1.872 billion.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to more than 4 billion shares in December and turnover registered KWD 853.54 million.

Market Capitalisation

The value of market capitalisation grew to KWD 36.35 billion in 2019, compared to KWD 29.01 billion in 2018.

Market capitalisation rose by 10.6% quarter-on-quarter in Q4-19, from KWD 32.86 billion in Q3-19. In December, market capitalisation gained KWD 2.06 billion, against KWD 34.29 billion in November.
