Dubai to host new transport, logistics exhibition in November
The first edition of the brand-new show will be launched in Dubai South

UAE – Mubasher: A new trade show focused on providing the latest developments in the transport and logistics sector will be held in Dubai later this year, under the name SiTL Middle East, as announced by the event organizer Reed Exhibitions on Monday.

The first edition of the show will be launched in Dubai South from 16 to 18 November 2020, offering both government and industry stakeholders from across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region access to top technologies that could boost their business efficiency and profitability, according to a press release.

Moreover, the event is expected to see more than 120 exhibitors, 2,000 visitors, including regional distribution managers, and logistics professionals.

The event will be a venue for top-tier officials from various countries to hold bilateral discussions, with the Emirati government highlighting the country's major efforts in building a global hub supported by world-class facilities and services, the statement noted.

Commenting on the event's first edition being held in Dubai, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation (DACC) and Dubai South, Khalifa Al Zaffin, said, “Our vision is in line with Dubai’s and the UAE’s strategy for sustainable growth and continued global leadership. Through SITL ME, we will be gaining new insights and opportunities to grow in terms of technology and innovation.”

The rapidly-growing e-commerce coupled by new technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and Internet of Things (IoT) led to major changes and became largely crucial to businesses where transport and logistics play an essential role.

SiTL Middle East will feature seven major segments, this includes intra-logistics, robotics and automation; packaging and pallet; technologies, IoT and information systems; in addition to new energy and transport equipment, real estate and logistics infrastructures, and safety and cybersecurity.

It is worth noting that the Middle East logistics market is expected to hit $66 billion by the end of 2020, according to Swisslog Middle East. The global logistics market is forecast to grow by $287.1 million between 2020 and 2024.

The Emirati e-commerce sector alone is currently worth $17.8 billion, representing 45.6% of the total value of the Middle East’s e-commerce market, while the Middle East and North Africa’s e-commerce industry is likely to be worth $28.5 billion by 2022, while the global logistics industry will reach $726 billion by 2020.
