Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s oil ministry on Saturday announced that the 155-kilometre Ras Bakr-Ras Ghareb-Asyut pipeline has entered into operation.

The EGP 450 million pipeline will increase the volume of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) transmitted to Upper Egypt to 4,000 tonnes per day from 2,600 tonnes, the minister added, according to a statement.

Egypt’s oil minister Tarek El-Molla noted that the project is one of the important projects to develop and increase the efficiency of infrastructure, including LPG pipelines.

The project helps in avoiding risks associated with transporting LPG through tankers, El-Molla added.
