Dubai – Mubasher: Emaar Properties has signed an agreement with the Chinese Xiaomi, which has the largest Internet of Things (IoT) consumer platform, to launch Emaar Smart Home.

Under the agreement, Emaar Smart Home, which will offer the latest smart home technology powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, is set to be launched in 2020 as part Emaar’s digitally-enabled residential projects run by Xiaomi.

Hence, Emaar Properties has become the world’s first global developer outside China to enter such strategic agreement with Xiaomi to introduce smart homes.

Emaar Smart Home will be monitored by Xiaomi’s Mi Home application to allow users to easily manage their personal smart home system through its Mi Smart Door Lock which can unlock doors via smartphones, wearables, and passcodes.

In addition, Xiaomi Robot Vacuum will help in cleaning the smart homes.

Commenting on the new project, chairman of Emaar, Mohamed Alabbar, said that Emaar Smart Home represents the company’s vision of meeting the needs of future generations. This partnership will contribute in launching an unprecedented new project in the region.

Meanwhile, senior vice president and head of international business at Xiaomi, Shou Zi Chew, remarked that Xiaomi’s strategy employs AI technologies and the IoT to develop the most innovative technologies in the world to provide customers with the best high-quality products.
