Boursa Kuwait closes Thursday on mixed note
NBK logged the highest turnover with KWD 6.68 million

Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait indices registered a mixed performance at Thursday’s close for the fourth consecutive session amid higher trading activity.

The All-Share and Premier market indices inched down by 0.1% and 0.17%, respectively, whereas the Main and BK Main 50 indices increased by 0.08% and 0.22%, respectively.

Liquidity grew by 43.1% on Thursday to stand at KWD 37.04 million as compared to KWD 25.88 million a day earlier. Trading volume rose by 44.6% to 417.93 million shares from 288.97 million traded shares yesterday.

The consumer services segment topped five decliners with 2.13%, whereas the technology sector led seven gainers with 10%.

Gulf Cement came on top of the losers with 9.62%, whereas Al Mal Investment headed the winners with 12%.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) achieved the highest turnover of KWD 6.68 million, the stock was down 0.87%, while Investors Holding Group led the trading activity through the exchange of 111.05 million shares, the stock went up 4.35%.

The Premier Index of Boursa Kuwait saw a positive significant momentum on Thursday, particularly on cheap stocks like Investors Holding whose trading activity exceeded 111 million shares, capital market analyst Ali Al Selmy told Mubasher, expecting most of the stock markets, including the Kuwaiti bourse, to continue showing a mixed performance over the coming period until things get clear regarding the coronavirus outbreak.
