Mubasher: The China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) expects the country’s new installations to reach a range between 35 and 45 gigawatts in 2020, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

Around 25% of domestic solar companies were shut due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

Solar builds in China are expected to rebound following policy changes that caused uncertainties for developers in 2019.

As per CPIA’s estimates, polysilicon producers are running at a utilisation rate of 89%, while solar glass companies are seeing a much lower rate of 30%.

Last year, China’s solar panel production levelled up by 17% year-on-year to 98.6 gigawatts.
