Egypt reports 33 new COVID-19 infections; total at 327
A total of 56 patients have fully recovered and have been discharged from the quarantine

Cairo – Mubasher: The number of people diagnosed with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Egypt grew to 327 after 33 new patients contracted the infection after being in contact with previously reported cases, according to an official statement by the health ministry on Sunday.

Egypt’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 14 after four patients passed away, the ministry's spokesman Khaled Megahed, said.

The total number of patients whose COVID-19 test results came back negative increased to 74, of which 56 have fully recovered and have been discharged from the quarantine.

All patients are receiving medical treatment at quarantine hospital facilities, as per the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) instructions, Megahed added.

He further reiterated that no COVID-19 infections were reported in Egypt's governorates except for the officially announced numbers, adding that the government would immediately announce any new suspected cases as it is fully transparent regarding the number of patients, in accordance with international health regulations and in full cooperation with the WHO.
