Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) gained 246.84 points or 6.38% to close Thursday's trading session at 4,113.68 points, exceeding 4,000 points for the first time since 12 March.

The market cap increased by around AED 21.33 billion to register AED 442.65 billion, compared to AED 421.32 billion during the previous session on Wednesday, 8 April.

Around 69.66 million shares were traded through 2,618 transactions at a total value of AED 195.85 million.

The banks sector hit the top of the gainers list with 8.55%.

Methaq Takaful Insurance led the risers with 7.14%, while Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) headed the losers with 4.98%.

Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat), up 5.59%, recorded the highest turnover of AED 35.05 million, while Aldar Properties was the most active stock with 16.77 million shares.
