UAE – Mubasher: The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has requested all banks operating in the UAE to freeze the accounts of BR Shetty, founder and chairman of NMC Healthcare, and his family.

As part of the CBUAE's instructions, the accounts of the companies in which Shetty owns a stake will also be frozen, according to a recent press release.

Meanwhile, the central bank blacklisted several companies associated with the Indian businessman, their senior management, and a number of their employees.

It is noteworthy to mention that the health group recently announced over $6.6 million debt that has not been disclosed since the announcement of its interim financial results on 30 June 2019.
