Kuwait opens drive-thru coronavirus test site at airport
A total of 180 tests will be conducted at random daily

Mubasher: A drive-through coronavirus (COVID-19) testing service was recently inaugurated at Jazeera Airways’ Fly & Park facility at the Kuwait International Airport by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported late on Saturday.

A total of 180 tests will be conducted at random on a daily basis via the new service for 180 individuals from all the six governorates based on population distribution.

According to the statement, there will be three conditions on which the random sample will be chosen. First, the number of male and female individuals should be equal. Second, the age category of testers should range between 18 and 70. Third, the sample should represent the largest possible number of districts within the governorates.

In this respect, the Minister of Health Basel Al Sabah stated that the new site will facilitate the testing process as 15 vehicles can enter simultaneously.

He also reiterated the health ministry’s cooperation with the Public Authority for Civil Information to carry out continuous daily tests nationwide, noting that the chosen households will receive SMSs with all the data required, including date, time, and location.

Kuwait has a present national total of 13,802 coronavirus cases, along with 3,843 recoveries and 107 deaths.
