Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Health denied statements about imposing a one-week full curfew to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
A statement attributed to the health minister Hala Zayed about imposing a full curfew from Tuesday, 19 May, until the third day of Eid El-Fitr, scheduled to be on 26 May, is completely fake and incorrect, spokesman of the health ministry Khaled Megahed said in a statement on Sunday.
Megahed affirmed that the health ministry is not the concerned authority to take such decisions.
The number of COVID-19 infections reached 11,719 after the detection of 491 new cases on Saturday. The death toll amounted to 612 and the number of recoveries reached 2,950.
