UAE – Mubasher: Emirates Telecommunication Group (Etisalat) has appointed Hatem Dowidar as Acting CEO, according to the company's disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on Wednesday.

The appointment came after Saleh Abdulla Al Abdooli resigned from the CEO post due to personal reasons.

In 2015, the new acting CEO joined the group as a Chief Operating Officer before becoming the CEO of Etisalat International in 2016.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering, Dowidar previously served as CEO of Vodafone Egypt from 2009 to 2014 and Group Chief of Staff for Vodafone Group.
