Egypt’s parliament approves state budget for FY20/21
The country has allocated EGP 258.5 billion for the healthcare sector

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian finance minister Mohamed Maait announced that the state budget for fiscal year 2020/2021, approved by the parliament, amounts to EGP 2.2 trillion.

The state budget includes expenditures of EGP 1.7 trillion, up by EGP 138.6 billion from FY19/20, Maait said in a statement on Thursday.

The allocations for the health, education, and scientific sectors as well as the budgets for economic authorities and public-sector companies stand at EGP 682.5 billion for the coming fiscal year, up by EGP 545 billion a year earlier.

The country has allocated EGP 258.5 billion for the healthcare sector in FY20/21 budget, an increase of EGP 7 billion from FY19/20.

Moreover, an amount of EGP 335 billion has been allocated for wages and workers compensation in FY20/21, up by EGP 33.8 billion from a year earlier.

Moreover, the education, higher education, and scientific research sectors will receive allocations of EGP 241.6 billion, EGP 122 billion, and EGP 60.4 billion, respectively.
