UAE - Mubasher: Dubai's food exports to Russia recorded $114 million in 2019, reflecting the increased cooperation between the UAE and the Russian Federation on food security, according to the Dubai media office.

The emirate's imports from Russia reached $305 million in 2019, which represents a large share of the total bilateral trade between the two countries.

This announcement came during a webinar, entitled "Russia-UAE Food Trade in the Post-COVID-19 Era," organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The director of International Offices at Dubai Chamber, Omar Khan, said that Dubai has provided several competitive advantages to Russian food exports seeking to invest in MENA and African markets, including a world-class logistics infrastructure and a sound financial system.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Russia – UAE Committee at Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alexei Busev, remarked that Dubai is a prominent food trade hub.

Therefore, Busev added that the Russian Food House in Dubai, representing 35 Russian companies, is benefitting from the new trade opportunities offered by the emirate.
