Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has built about 1 million residential units at a combined value of EGP 200 billion, the country’s housing minister Assem El-Gazzar said on Sunday.
The government established 610,000 social housing units and 140,000 moderate-income housing at cost of EGP 90 billion and EGP 54 billion, respectively, El-Gazzar added during the inauguration of several national projects.
A total of 250,000 alternative housing units for slum residents have also been built at a cost of EGP 61 billion, he noted.
El-Gazzar further revealed that 13 governorates, including Port Said, have became free from unsafe and unplanned areas.
