Postal service providers in KSA obliged to offer e-payment systems
The decision will be applied gradually

Riyadh - Mubasher: All licensed postal service providers in Saudi Arabia are now obligated to provide electronic payment (e-payment) solutions in all outlets and with delivery representatives, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said on Tuesday.

The CITC has been coordinating with service providers since April to provide enabling conditions and dismantle any obstacles in this regard.

Service providers were notified to apply this mandate gradually. As a start, they shall provide e-payment systems at stores and branches starting as of 5 July, while delivery representatives shall have to carry those means starting from 23 July.

This mandate, moreover, aims to develop the kingdom’s postal service sector, improve the service quality, and enhance the digital transformation and its services, hence, ensuring organised and easy financial transactions between customers and service providers.
