EGX ends Tuesday in red; market cap loses EGP 8.5bn
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 875.1 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a negative note, pressured by foreign selloffs.

The main EGX30 index declined by 1.22%, ending the mid-week session at 10,873 points.

Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI fell by 1.89% to 1,520 points, while the EGX100 EWI dropped by 1.84% to 2,341 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX50 index retreated by 1.67% to close at 1,838 points.

The market cap value lost about EGP 8.5 billion to EGP 595.9 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 31.2 million, while local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 2.3 million and EGP 28.88 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 875.1 million after 328.5 million shares were traded through nearly 34,400 transactions.
