Emirates and Airlink will provide the ease of single-ticket travel

UAE - Mubasher: Emirates Airline has inked an interline agreement with Airlink, a regional airline serving smaller destinations across Southern Africa, to expand its network in Southern Africa as countries begin to lift off restrictions on international travels.

Under the agreement, Emirates Airline will connect its customers with over 25 domestic destinations and 20 regional destinations in Southern Africa through the gateways in Johannesburg and Cape Town, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Emirates and Airlink will provide the ease of single-ticket travel and one-stop baggage check-in to customers transferring from Johannesburg and Cape Town to domestic points.

Commenting on the agreement, the President of Emirates Airline, Sir Tim Clark, said: "We are committed to our operations in South Africa, as we continue to look at ways to build our extended network for customers, and help them benefit with diverse travel options."

The Airlink CEO, Rodger Foster, noted: "We are confident that the relationship will deliver enhanced travel options to customers given the designed interconnectivity that will be enabled at OR Tambo International Airport and Cape Town International Airport."

It is noteworthy to mention that on 1 October, Emirates resumed its flights to Johannesburg and Cape Town.
