Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Finance has denied the allegations of a new rise in the value-added tax (VAT) levied on food commodities.
The ministry confirmed that the VAT has not been increased on any commodity, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Cabinet on Monday.
The ministry added that some food commodities are exempted from the VAT in order not to impose further burdens on citizens.
