Egypt to start pilot operation of new capital's government district in August
The governmental district is being built on 430 feddans

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt is set to start pilot operation of government buildings in the New Administrative Capital in August as employees will be relocated gradually, the Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, announced on Tuesday.

Madbouly held a meeting with the Minister of Housing, Assem El-Gazzar; Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir; Chairman of Administrative Capital for Urban Development, Ahmed Zaky Abdeen; and Chairman of Armed Forces Engineering Authority, Ehab El-Far, to follow up on the implementation of projects in the new capital.

The projects include the 101-kilometre (km) electric rail, connecting El-Salam City with the 10th of Ramadan City passing through the New Administrative Capital, which has reached a completion of 79%.

The governmental district in the new capital, which is being built on 430 feddans, includes 10 ministerial complexes with 34 ministries as well as the headquarters of the cabinet and House of Representatives.

The PM discussed preparations for the inauguration of the New Administration Capital which is expected to be by the end of 2021.
