UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has increased its holdings of the US Treasury bonds by 5% year-on-year (YoY) to $33.8 billion in January 2021, according to the latest data by the US Department of the Treasury.
The UAE has ranked third among the holders of the US debt instruments in the Gulf region, while Saudi Arabia occupied the first position with around $135.1 billion, followed by Kuwait with $45.3 billion.
Globally, Japan and China remained the biggest holders of the US Treasury bonds with $1.276 trillion and $1.095 trillion, respectively.
