UAE – Mubasher: The UAE came in the first position for mobile network speeds worldwide in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, according to the latest data from the US internet testing and analysis company Ookla.
The GCC nation beat South Korea and Qatar in the mobile broad speed test in January, February, and March with download speeds of 183.03 megabits per second (Mbps) and 177.10 Mbps, 178.52 Mbps, respectively, according to a statement on Monday.
The speed test global index measures internet speeds in more than 135 countries on a monthly basis.
The UAE-based Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) has been recognised as the world’s fastest mobile network.
