Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) and Philips, a global leader in health technology, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the data-driven transformation of healthcare in the UAE, marking the first of its kind partnership.

To support the Dubai Health Strategy 2021, du will offer the infrastructure, coupled with Philips’ technological advancements, to provide predictive analytics and data visualisation and report capabilities to healthcare workers, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Hence, this partnership will enable the local health system to have access to critical patient information, make quick life-saving decisions, and prevent patient deterioration.

The Chief New Business and Innovation Office of du, Farid Faraidooni, commented: "Although the pandemic undoubtedly altered this laser-focused approach temporarily, with business continuity and seamless connectivity for all our topmost priorities, recent events have also accelerated the pace of momentum to realize the digital transformation required to help people take better care of their health at every stage of life."

Meanwhile, the CEO for Philips Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, Vincenzo Ventricelli, said: "We recognise that ICT and Telecommunication in healthcare allow for faster transmission of information, as well as digitization of complex data, which will accelerate efficient interaction between healthcare professionals and patients."
