EGX30 falls below 10,000 pts at Tuesday's close
The market cap value retreated by EGP 3.8 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a negative note, pressured by local and foreign selloffs.

The main EGX30 index declined by 1.4% to end the mid-week session at 9,963 points after the heavyweight Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) slid by 2.76% to EGP 50 at a turnover of EGP 149.3 million.

In the meantime, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI dropped by 0.97% to 2,354 points, while the EGX100 EWI went down by 0.87% to 3,291 points.

Likewise, the EGX50 EWI fell by 0.99% to close at 2,232 points.

The market cap value retreated by EGP 3.8 billion to register EGP 638.696 billion.

Foreign and local investors were net sellers with EGP 21.48 million and EGP 10.26 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 31.74 million.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.69 billion after 481.17 million shares were exchanged through around 53,740 transactions.
