Riyadh – Mubasher: Jarir Marketing Company (Jarir Bookstores) achieved net profits after Zakat and tax worth SAR 456.9 million during the first half (H1) of 2021, down by 0.7% from SAR 460.1 million in H1-20.
Earnings per share amounted to SAR 3.81 in H1-21, compared to SAR 3.83 in H1-20, according to the interim income statements on Tuesday.
Sales decreased by 3.5% to SAR 4.54 billion in the January-June 2021 period from SAR 4.71 billion in the prior-year period.
During the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, Jarir posted a decline of 9% in net profits to SAR 189.2 million from SAR 208.4 million in Q2-20.
Sales also shrank by 15% to SAR 2.01 billion in the April-June 2021 period from SAR 2.37 billion in Q2-20.
Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ), Jarir’s net profits in Q2-21 were lower by 29% than SAR 267.6 million. Sales as well narrower by 20% compared to SAR 2.53 billion.
In Q1-21, the company’s net profits increased annually by 6.31% and the sales soared by 8.12% compared to Q1-20.
