Agthia reports 61% higher profits in H1-21; dividends proposed

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The net profits attributable to Agthia Group increased by 61% to AED 67.92 million during the first half (H1) of 2021, compared to AED 42.263 million in the same period of 2020, as per the company's consolidated financials for the six-month period ended 30 June 2021.

The company generated revenues of AED 1.318 billion in the January-June period of 2021, up 21% from AED 1.089 billion in the year-ago period.

The basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) settled at AED 0.095 in H1-21, versus AED 0.07 in the corresponding period of 2020.

Meanwhile, the board of Agthia has recommended an 8.25 fils dividends per share for H1-21, subject to the shareholders and regulatory approvals.

The Chairman of Agthia, Khalifa Sultan Al Suwaidi, said: "As we enter the second half of the year, we look forward to delivering on our growth strategy to become an F&B leader in the MENAP region, while focusing on retaining our market leadership, financial resilience and delivering sustainable stakeholder value."

Meanwhile, the CEO of Agthia Group, Alan Smith, commented: "The ability of our team to respond effectively to changing consumer behaviour and market dynamics, whilst focusing on effectively integrating our new businesses has been the cornerstone of this growth trajectory."

It is noteworthy to mention that in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, the company registered an 86% increase in net profits attributable to the owners to AED 49.584 million from AED 26.637 million in the year-ago period.
