Cairo - Mubasher: Amazon has relaunched Souq.com as Amazon.eg, an online store dedicated to customers in Egypt.

The online store will include many items from local and international brands, including electronics, apparel, home and kitchen, grocery, and Amazon products and devices like Kindle e-readers, according to a press release on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, 31 August 2021, Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has attended the inauguration of the Amazon Fulfillment Center in the 10th of Ramadan City.

Shoppers from Amazon.eg are able to pay for their products in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) using credit, debit, and prepaid cards, including Visa and Mastercard, alongside the option of cash on delivery (COD). 

Amazon Egypt Country Manager, Omar Elsahy, said: "Amazon.eg brings together Souq.com’s local know-how and Amazon’s global expertise, something we believe will be of significant value to customers across Egypt."
