UAE - Mubasher: The board management of the UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has granted Nawah Energy Company a licence to possess, handle, store, and transfer nuclear material for Unit 3 of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.

The FANR has authorised the company to conduct these activities at Unit 3 in a meeting held to highlight the latest updates on the four units of the BNPP, according to a recent press release.

During the meeting, the authority has also approved an agreement with the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) to cooperate in research and development in various technical areas.

Meanwhile, the UAE is set to host the ConvEx-3 exercise 'Barakah UAE' of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on 26-27 October 2021.
