Saudi Arabia's inflation rate rises 0.6% in September
The prices of food and beverages rose by 2.4%

Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's consumer price index (CPI) went up 0.6% year-on-year (YoY) in September 2021, mainly driven by higher food and transport prices.

The prices of food and beverages rose by 2.4% due to higher food prices by 2.6%, which was affected by higher prices of vegetables, meat, and poultry, according to the latest data by the General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).

Meanwhile, the transport prices jumped by 5.9% mainly due to the increase in prices of gasoline.

The Kingdom recorded an increase in the communication services; furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance; and restaurants and hotels prices by 2.8%, 0.7%, and 0.7%, respectively.

On the other hand, the prices of miscellaneous goods and services and housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels declined by 0.2% and 3%, respectively.
