Riyadh – Mubasher: Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) has signed an agreement with Ericsson to recycle expired and discarded electronic devices across the Kingdom.

The partnership, which was concluded during GITEX 2021, aims to contribute to preserving the environment, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Mobily will join Ericsson’s Product Take-Back Program as part of this agreement to improve customer convenience and recycle old electronic devices for safe and responsible disposal.

Vice President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, Ekow Nelson, commented: “Waste from electrical and electronic equipment (e-waste) is one of the fastest growing environmental hazards in the world.”

He added: “The program would enable Mobily to recycle large quantities of obsolete technological equipment responsibly thereby reducing the environmental impact in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia whilst complementing Mobily’s efforts in becoming a socially responsible telecom operator.”

It is worth noting that Mobily has announced its financial results for the third quarter (Q3) that ended in September, achieving net profits worth SAR 281 million.
