Cairo – Mubasher: Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments has witnessed transactions worth more than EGP 11 billion in the payment acceptance sector in 2021.
The company registered a 232% year-on-year (YoY) growth in the value of transactions through Fawry acceptance machines to EGP 6 billion in 2021, according to a press release on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the company's payment acceptance transactions via the online gateway surged by 400% to EGP 5 billion last year, when compared to 2020.
This performance has enabled Fawry to lead the payment acceptance sector in Egypt.
The CEO of Fawry, Ashraf Sabry, said: "Financial inclusion and digital transformation in the field of electronic payments and collections work in accordance with Egypt's 2030 vision to provide cashless payment methods on a large scale while reducing costs."
Sabry added: "We at Fawry are working to support and stimulate the use of electronic means and channels in digital payments and protect the rights of users of payment systems and services through merchant point of sale devices, Fawry Plus Branch and myfawry application for the ultimate goal of facilitating people's lives."
