UAE - Mubasher: The UAE recorded a 14.2% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its non-oil trade exchange with New Zealand to around AED 2.8 billion in 2021, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, said.
The UAE is New Zealand’s tenth largest trading partner in the world, representing 2.5% of New Zealand's foreign trade, and has led the country's trading partners in the Arab world, according to a press release on Thursday.
In addition, the UAE reported AED 625 million direct investments in New Zealand by the end of March 2021, while New Zealand's investments in the UAE amounted to over AED 272.5 million.
This announcement was made during the eighth session of the UAE-New Zealand Joint Economic Committee, held on the sidelines of Expo 2020 Dubai.
During the session, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Etihad Credit Export Insurance in UAE and the New Zealand Export Credit Agency to promote trade and raise export-related investments between the two countries.
