Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will issue treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 20.50 billion through two tranches on Thursday, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
With a 182-day tenor until 4 October 2022, the first issue stood at EGP 12.50 billion, according to the central bank's official data.
Meanwhile, the second tranche worth EGP 8 billion will mature in 364 days until 4 April 2023.
State-run banks are the top purchasers of government debt instruments, which aim to finance the budget deficit.
