Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has signed an EGP 100 million agreement with Energya Power and Telecom Solutions Company, Ahram Gate reported.

The two entities will collaborate to carry out the rehabilitation process of Tama transformer station in Upper Egypt electricity district.

Tama station will therefore have a voltage capacity of 11/66 kilovolt (kV) with a capacity of 3x40 megavolt-amperes (MVA) and gas-insulated switchgear of the type gas-insulated systems (GIS) as well as a turnkey system.

The project comes in line with the Egyptian government’s plans to preserve the safety of operation and stability of electricity supply in a bid to face high usage of power in the area.

The development will be self-financed from EETC’s resources during its 12-month execution period as of June 2022.

Last year, EETC sealed electricity interconnection agreements with Saudi Electricity Company for a project amounting to $1.80 billion.
