UAE - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced its plan to purchase AED 70 billion ($19 billion) products that could be manufactured locally.
This announcement was made at the Make it in the Emirates Forum, during which ADNOC inked agreements with UAE and international companies for local manufacturing opportunities worth AED 21 billion ($5.7 billion), according to a press release on Tuesday.
The local manufacturing opportunities comprise more than 100 products which ADNOC aims to purchase between 2022 and 2030 to be used across its full value chain.
The agreements were reached with companies, including India’s Intech Organics to explore manufacturing calcium and sodium bromide in the UAE and Schlumberger and Independent Technical Services (ITS).
The UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, added: "In line with the UAE Leadership’s wise directives and our national industrial strategy, ADNOC is creating multiple long-term domestic manufacturing opportunities for the private sector, through our robust procurement pipeline."
Meanwhile, Al Jaber added: "We invite local and international manufacturers to take advantage of these opportunities and join the UAE in our industrial growth journey as we strengthen the resilience of our supply chains, enhance economic self-sufficiency and deliver lasting value."
