Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) will close on Thursday, 6 October, on the occasion of the 6th of October War Victory anniversary.

Trading will resume on Sunday, 9 October, the bourse said on Monday.

In a separate statement, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said that all banks operating in Egypt will close on Thursday as well and will resume work on Sunday.

On Sunday, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, announced that next Thursday and Saturday will be paid days off in celebration of the anniversary of the 6th of October War Victory and Prophet Mohammed’s birthday, respectively.

The Prime Minister’s decision applies to ministries, governmental bodies, public facilities, municipalities, public enterprises, public business sector companies, and the private sector.
