Egypt's Damietta collects over $1bn taxes, customs in November 2022

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 1.33 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Damietta port during November 2022, Akhbar El-Yom reported.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Damietta port amounted to EGP 318.19 million last month.

In the meantime, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the port reached EGP 856.45 million and EGP 159.10 million, respectively.

The imported goods comprised strategic commodities and general cargo, including rice, wheat, apples, fodder, fabrics, and motorcycle and car spare parts.

In addition, the port exported goods that include marble and sand at a total value of EGP 10.68 million in November.
