Riyadh – Mubasher: Ericsson has teamed up with Arabian Internet and Telecommunication Services Company (solutions), a subsidiary of Saudi Telecom Company (stc), to foster the network performance in Saudi Arabia.

The Nasdaq-listed firm is also collaborating with Advanced Communications and Electronics Systems (ACES) to secure a neutral host solution at King Saud University Stadium (Marsool Park) in Riyadh, according to a press release.

Backed by Ericsson Indoor Connect, communications service providers (CSPs) will be able to offer indoor 5G solutions at a faster rate for their subscribers, besides providing all users with advanced 5G performance.

Through neutral host solutions and multi-operator sharing, CSPs will be able to secure cost-effectively wide coverage with 5G indoor networks in various locations across the Kingdom.

Håkan Cervell, Vice President and Head of Customer Unit stc in Saudi Arabia and Egypt at Ericsson Middle East and Africa (MEA), noted: “Indoor connectivity has become increasingly vital to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation.”

Cervell added: “Our indoor 5G solution and neutral host provider model will help ensure robust 5G connectivity across the Kingdom in line with Saudi Vision 2030.”

Last October, stc implemented one of Ericsson’s artificial intelligence (AI) powered cognitive software solutions to enhance user experience and network performance.

In the first nine months (9M) of 2022, stc reported a net profit after Zakat and tax worth SAR 9.41 billion, whereas solutions generated net profits after Zakat and tax worth SAR 856 million.
