Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) and etisalat by e& inked a master developer agreement (MDA) with Aldar Properties, according to a press release.

Under the partnership, du and Etisalat UAE will provide Aldar's development projects with essential telecommunications infrastructure in line with the Taawun infrastructure deployment initiative.

Taawun is a joint initiative designed to back the government’s long-term vision to evolve smart infrastructure and secure a wide range of telecom services for customers.

The initiative also aims to create powerful telecom infrastructure for property developers by deploying enhanced fibre-optic and passive telecom solutions.

Meanwhile, du and Etisalat UAE will install, maintain, and monitor fixed telecom services and solutions across Aldar’s projects in Abu Dhabi, including Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Raha, and Reem Island, as well as government housing and infrastructure schemes.

Masood Sharif Mahmood, CEO of etisalat by e&, noted: “The newly developed telecom infrastructure of the UAE is key to reinforcing the role that the UAE’s telecom industry plays in this ‘connectivity renaissance’ era.”

Adel Abdulla Albreiki, CEO of Aldar, said: "Through this partnership with du and e&, not only will we further advance the telecom infrastructure across our developments, we will also reinforce our continuous efforts to remain at the forefront of digital transformation, sustainable development, and operational excellence.”

In the first nine months (9M) of 2022, du registered a net profit worth AED 933.33 million, higher than AED 780.22 million during the January-September 2021 period.

Meanwhile, the net profits attributable to the shareholders of Aldar and e& amounted to AED 2.02 billion and AED 7.34 billion, respectively, in 9M-22.
