Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: YahClick, the data solutions subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), inked a $15 million contract with Sudan-based Canar Telecommunication Company Ltd.

Through the six-year strategic partnership agreement, YahClick aims to further boost its footprint across Africa, according to a press release.

Canar will utilise YahClick's satellite capacity to provide consumers and businesses in Sudan with consistent, enhanced, and fast broadband internet connectivity.

The deal also aligns with Canar and the Sudanese government’s digital transformation strategy to scale up broadband connectivity across the country.

Meanwhile, the partnership adds to Canar’s remarkable revenue backlog, which reached $2.10 billion as of 30 September 2022, equivalent to 5.1 times the group’s annual 2021 revenues.

Ali Al Hashemi, Group CEO of Yahsat, said: “The strategic partnership with an established telecoms operator in the country will allow YahClick to support other communities across the Middle East and Africa (MEA).”

Al Hashemi continued: “It further expands YahClick’s business in the region by growing our regional footprint and adds to the increasing list of countries in Africa that use YahClick’s suite of products and services.”

Abdalla Saeed, CEO of Canar, indicated: “By leveraging YahClick’s solutions we will be able to build up the country’s digital infrastructure in a manner that will allow our local economy to grow and thrive.”

In the first nine months (9M) of 2022, Yahsat registered net profits attributable to the shareholders worth $35.14 million, an annual drop from $43.29 million.
