Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) announced, on 9 February, the resignation of Essam Mohamed from his position as the CEO of the company.

Julphar elaborated that Mohamed left the firm as he will join another company, according to a bourse filing.

Basel Nimer Ziyadeh will succeed Mohamed to be appointed as the new CEO of Julphar starting from 13 February 2023.

Ziyadeh has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, as he joined global and regional companies like GSK, Hikma, and Tabuk.

The new CEO holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Jordan, besides having an MBA from the American University of Beirut (AUB).

Ziyadeh also served as an advisor and board member for several pharmaceutical entities in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, and Lebanon.

It is worth noting that during the first nine months (9M) of 2022, Julphar registered net profits attributable to the shareholders worth AED 10.40 million, lower than AED 103.20 million in 9M-21.
