Egypt auctions EGP 34bn debt instruments on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued treasury bills (T-bills) worth EGP 34 billion through two tranches on Sunday, 26 March, according to official data.

With a tenor of 91 days until 27 June 2023, the first issue stood at EGP 13 billion.

The second tranche was valued at EGP 21 billion and will mature in 273 days on 26 December this year.

Last Thursday, the central bank auctioned T-bills at an aggregated value of EGP 43.50 billion through two offerings.

On a separate note, the CBE recently launched a new website to bolster the users’ experience to cope with the latest technological developments worldwide.
