CBE auctions debt instruments worth EGP 39.75bn on Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 39.50 billion through two issues on Tuesday, 18 April.

The first tranche stood at EGP 16.50 billion and will mature in 182 days on 24 October 2023, according to official date.

Holding a tenor of 364 days until 23 April 2024, the second offering was valued at EGP 23 billion.

The CBE also auctioned treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 250 million through one tranche, carrying a seven-year maturity period until 7 May 2029.

Last Thursday, the central bank offered debt instruments at a total value of EGP 43 billion over three auctions.
