CBE unveils EGP 3.5bn T-bonds on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) auctioned treasury bonds (T-bonds) at a total value of EGP 3.50 billion through two issues on Monday, 15 May.

The first offering stood at EGP 3 billion, holding a tenor of three years until 6 April 2026, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second issue was valued at EGP 500 million and will mature in five years on 13 October 2027.

On 14 May, the CBE announced treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 40 billion through two tranches.

The first tranche was valued at EGP 22.50 billion, while the second offering stood at EGP 17.50 billion.

Last Thursday, the central bank unveiled debt instruments at a combined value of EGP 39.50 billion through two auctions.
