CBE auctions EGP 40bn T-bills on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued treasury bills (T-bills) worth EGP 40 billion through two auctions on Sunday, 4 June.

With a 91-day tenor until 5 September 2023, the first tranche was valued at EGP 23 billion, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second offering stood at EGP 17 billion and will mature in 273 days on 5 March 2024.

On 1 June, the central bank auctioned T-bills at a total value of EGP 39.50 billion through two tranches.
