Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced the launch of the first Techie kit programme under Egypt Makes Electronics (EME) initiative to endorse digital transformation.

The programme aims to provide training to students and graduates, in collaboration with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Orange Digital Center (ODC), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and Creativa Innovation Hubs.

Enrolled individuals will get their training within Creativa Innovation Hubs in different governorates; Alexandria, Mansoura, Menoufia, Ismailia, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, and Aswan.

Techie kit programme provides training in many specialisations such as software engineering and digital fabrication (hardware).

The ministry noted that the deadline for applications is 20 July.

Creativa Innovation Hubs is a national project established by MCIT in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to help students, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and startups to become key players in achieving digital transformation within different sectors across Egypt.
