UAE stock markets close Monday with varied note; EGX rises, Tadawul down

Mubasher: The main index DFMGI of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Monday’s session in the green zone, while FADGI, the benchmark index of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), closed higher.

As for the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), the main market’s All Share Index (TASI) and the Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) ended the session in red.

Meanwhile, the indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a positive performance at the end of Monday.

UAE Stock Markets

DFMGI declined by 3.76 points (0.092%) to end the session at 4,079.42 points. A total of 238.80 million shares were exchanged at a value of AED 413.34 million.

Al Firdous Holding topped the risers with 8.02%, while Al Mazaya Holding led the fallers with 10%.

Union Properties was the most active stock in terms of the trading volume with 56.13 million shares, while Emaar Properties witnessed the highest turnover of AED 62.31 million.

On the other hand, FADGI gained 0.386% to close the session at 9,824.20 points. The trading value reached AED 1.42 billion after 380.45 million shares were traded, while the market cap value stood at AED 2.84 trillion.

Q Holding was the top performer in terms of the trading volume and value with 74.57 million shares and AED 236.54 million, respectively.

Abu Dhabi National Takaful Company (ADNTC) advanced the risers with 15%, while Hily Holding topped the fallers with 8.95%.

Saudi Arabian Stock Market

TASI fell by 79.54 points (0.70%) to 11,271.94 points at the end of the session, with the turnover totalling SAR 6.39 billion after 271.44 million shares were exchanged.

The pharma segment led the decliners with 6.45%, while the food and beverage (F&B) sector topped the gainers with 1.96%.

Al Etihad Cooperative Insurance Company headed the risers with 9.99%, while Development Works Food Company led the fallers with 9.99%.

Americana Restaurants International posted the largest trading volume of 35.38 million shares, while Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) achieved the highest turnover of SAR 925.32 million.

Similarly, NomuC closed the session lower by 939.02 points (3.82%) at 23,643.76 points.

Shatirah House Restaurant Company (Burgerizzr) was the top riser with 7.90%, while Future Care Trading Company led the fallers with 17.73%.

Egypt’s Stock Market

The EGX30 main index rose by 0.80% to 17,839.48 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI and the EGX100 EWI also closed the session higher with 0.82% to 3,595.48 points and 0.89% to 5,320.95 points, respectively.

The EGX’s turnover hit EGP 2.73 billion after 813.68 million shares were traded, while the market cap value stood at EGP 1.20 trillion.

As for trading on securities, the foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 65.52 million. Meanwhile, the Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 62.09 million and EGP 3.42 million, respectively.
